Entries taken from the real games
Every Pokémon has a Pokédex entry unique to each version of the games, from Pokémon Red and Green in 1996 to the most recent titles. The same creature can therefore be described in dozens of different ways depending on the game, which makes the exercise both rich and sometimes surprising.
Many entries are famous for their unexpected tone, mixing habitat, behavior and sometimes unsettling trivia. They often mention the Pokémon category, its living environment, its size or its habits, all valuable clues to identify it.
How to deduce the right Pokémon
Spot the keywords in the entry: a volcanic habitat points to a Fire Pokémon, a mention of forests to a Bug or Grass type, a cave to a Rock type. The official category, such as Mouse Pokémon or Flame Pokémon, narrows the field sharply. If you get stuck, progressive hints guide you without ever handing over the answer.
