Pokémon Moveset Quiz, guess the competitive set
In competitive play, each Pokémon runs a set: four moves, an item, an ability, a nature and a Tera type. This quiz shows you a set drawn from the Smogon database and asks which Pokémon is behind it.
Anatomy of a competitive set
In competitive play, a Pokémon is more than its stats: it runs a full set. That means four moves chosen to cover as many threats as possible, a held item, an ability, a nature that shifts two stats, an EV spread, and since the ninth generation a Tera type. These sets are drawn from the community Smogon database.
Each set is built for a precise role: offensive sweeper, defensive wall, hazard setter or support. Signature items and moves often give away the Pokémon, like certain exclusive attacks or an iconic item tied to a single creature.
Deducing the Pokémon behind the set
Start with the most distinctive move: a signature attack immediately narrows the field. The ability and Tera type refine it, and the competitive tier hints at the expected power level. Ladder regulars recognize most sets at a glance.
